The Candle Warning Label You Need

Candles are a fire hazard, so a candle warning label belongs on every jar you sell or give away, not just the ones intended for retail. Keep the lettering legible, and consider a pictogram alongside the text, since not every reader will stop to read fine print before lighting a wick. 

The National Candle Association recommends three basic warnings on every candle label:

1. Burn within sight.
2. Keep away from combustibles.
3. Keep away from children.

Beyond those three lines, businesses often add a maximum burn time and a reminder to trim the wick, both of which reduce returns and safety complaints. Blank candle labels make it easy to update this wording as a formula or container changes, without waiting for a new print run.
